i probably haven't officially mentioned that i'm working to rehabilitate a horse for my senior project, so i'm taking a journal to introduce her to you guys. she's this mega babe right here: [link][link] she's a naturally sassy paint mare named ice.
in the early fall, i began looking for a senior project and my riding instructor informed me that ice had an accident in her field and had to have her eye taken out. at first i was weary about working with her, since i had only experiences riding lesson horses; not training them. when i first started working with her she was jumpy and terrified of everything, and her head was constantly on a swivel. i noticed she'd get severely picked on in the field, too, probably from her total lack of confidence. there were multiple instances where i almost took a hoof to my head, in addition to another time in which she spooked while i was leading her and nearly ripped my arm off before she galloped off down the hill. i couldn't bring her around other horses or people, either, since she couldn't keep still and would not hesitate to run off. i still continued working with her every week, though.
i got to a point where i realized what i was trying to to with her might have been too much, so i back-tracked to just getting her desensitized to different things around our barn, like being on cross-ties, being brushed, people walking around her, horses in the same area as her, etc.. after continuing with those for a couple months, i began tacking her up and untacking her each session, since she hadn't been ridden for months. i took a chance one day and decided to see how she'd respond to someone in the saddle, since she'd been doing to well with everything else, and from then on, i took her on rides around the grounds of the farm. i then took her in the outdoor arena to take her over trot poles. at first i wasn't able to even walk a straight line with her, let alone walk or trot over the poles, as she had to concentrate on what she was walking over.
currently, i have her walking, trotting, and cantering in fields and in the arena with another horse there. she trots over poles fabulously, and i've started practicing weave poles, as well. [link] i've also had people approach her with treats, whom she welcomes now with a nicker. she's even made a friend in her field who loves to stick by her.
basically, i'm quite glad i didn't take a class or host an event for my senior project ahah -------------------------------------------------- oh also, as an update on my art, i'm currently doing an art trade. i haven't changed color on a horse in a while, so i'm working on a practice piece right now which i'll hopefully done tomorrow. then i'll be doing the actual art trade and after that i'll probably have no creativity left whatsoever yep.
preview for you guys c: [link] aah nosebleeeeeds (◡‿◡✿)

Hi! I'm a graphics maker and I'm making layouts on the international and polish version of Howrse game: [link] If you make a layout, you must have a picture that you want to use to do it. Therefore, I wanted to ask you if I can use your pictures to make my layouts. If I make one, I MUST to have author's permission, because I don't want to steal anything and I want to do layouts, because that is art too. If I make a layout and I have author's permission, I give a link to his DA profile on my layout and I write, that the picture is made by him. I'll really appreciate it, if you give me your premission to use your beautifull pictures or just some of them. Greetings ~Santusia
